SHORT-LIVED REVOLT
PORTUGUESE ROYALISTS BREAK BOUNDS. Cy Cable—Press Association—Copyright Received 8, 11 p.m. London, March 8. The Daily Mail's Vigo correspondent reports that a Royalist revolt occurred at Arcos in Northern Portugal, the result of violent speeches against the monarchy and clergy. A mob marched to the town hall, lowered the Republican flag, elected a provisional government, and spent the night in feasting. The Republic sent troops and restored order, deposing the local authorities.
