A BLOT ON CIVILISATION
STRIKERS' WIVES AND FAMILIES STARVING. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 8, 8.53 p.m. London, March 8. The Daily Express states that hundreds of families of the 12,000 miners on strike at Mid-Rhondda are on the verge of starvation. Women and children often faint in the streets from hunger. Colliers are receiving ten shillings weekly from the Miners' Federation, whose funds are rapidly dwindling. Tradesmen in the district are on the verge of ruin, and refuse the strikers further help.
