A meeting of Welsh Commoners resolved that the passing of the Welsh Disestablishment Disendowment Bill in 1912 Was an essential condition to the Welsh continuing to support the Government. Mr. Asquith afterwards promised the deputation that if the Parliament Bill were carried, the Government would give the Welsh Disestablishment Bill such a position in 1912 as would enable it to override the Lords' Veto in the present Parliament. Mr. William O'Brien declared the Budget of 1909 was the most formidable obstacle to Home Rule, the peasant proprietors of Ireland complaining of the double stamp duties, while the extraordinary doctrines of land nationalisation favored by 'Mr. Lloyd-George were causing alarm. BRITISH INTERESTS IN BENGAL. Received 8, 11 p.m. London, March 8. In the House of Commons Mr. Montagu stated that the Government of Bengal iad arranged with the Times of India to publish a weekly edition in the ver- - nacular, the Government subscribing for 25,000 copies, for the purpose of counter•cting the anti-British propaganda. A similar scheme would be adopted in i Eastern Bengal.
