1 AND EORICAST. VP'- .-•' By Telegraph.—Press Assoeiatioa. Wellington, Last Night. The Meteorological Office has issued the following summary and forecast: — A disturbance passed southward of New Plymouth and Napier during Tuesday night and early this morning, with winds veering by west to south, the glass then rising steadily. Rain fell in most parts of the South Island, and the weather was generally changeable. Present indications are for moderate to strong south-easterly winds in the north, and southerly and westerly winds in the south. The weather will probably be unsettled on coast and about Foveaux Strait] but conditions are improving elsewhere. The barometer will probably rise slowly everywhere.
