THE SHOOTING AT TRENTHAM. Jiy Telegraph.—l J ress Association I Trentham, Last Night. ' To-day lias hardly beeii as favorable for shooting as yesterday. The morning was all that could be desired, but in the afternoon a breeze sprang up, which upset many of the shooters, and spoiled some promising scores. The Otago Match, at 000 yards, was first taken, and three possibles were secured, but at the close several of the top aggregates had altered their positions. While Frank still led, Hay dropped to seventh place, and Cuthbortson went up to second, with Craw next. In the Hawke's Bay Match, at 1000 yards, considering the distance and wind, the shooting was good, though several failed to get on to the target,; Smaill (Kaitangata), who was among! the leaders, being among the number, i The sectional firing for teams of six men, for which 42 teams have entered, commenced yesterday, and was com-j pleted to-day, as was the attack match and the special service match. The day! was a strenuous one for the riflemen. The principal prize-winners in the I moving target match, at 300 yards, seven shots, target head and shoulders,' were: Butler (Hutt), Neilson (Danne-j [ virke), £4 each, 28 points, 4 bulls each; ' Blewett (Mauriceville), Wood (Christ-1 church), King (Linwood), and Rodgers (Wellington), £3 each, 28 points, 3 bulls each; Ellis (Petone), Webster (Denniston) and Morris (Nelson), £1 each, 28 ; points, 1 bull each.
