A LICENSING ANOMALY. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Nelson, Last Night. The holder of a bottle license, which will be extinguished by legislation of last session, applied to the licensing committee for the issue of a wholesale license. It was objected that the new license would increase the number of licenses in the district, but the committee granted the application on the chairman's casting vote. UNCUSTOMED GOODS. Nelson, Last Night. Richard Weedon, a greaser on the Rimutaka, was charged to-day with being in possession of uncustomed goods of the value of £O. A fine of treble the value was the penalty, but it was reduced to £lO. A theft occurred on the steamer last night, and the police found the uncustomed goods in Wecdon's bunk while searching for the stolen property. GISBORNE HARBOR. Oisborne, Tuesday. The harbor hoard yesterday decided to confer with Mr. Holmes, Engineer-in-Chicf. when he is visiting Oisborne. as to the best method of coping with the range which causes trouble at the entrance of the inner harbor in stormy weather. ■ j s'
