Passengers by the China liner Asia, which has arrived at San Francisco, assert that they saw Sir Hector Mac Donald drilling troops in China. The Asia's officers assert that the British navy officers on the warship Kent corroborated this.
Sir Hector MaeDonald's reported death a few years ago was doubted in many quarters, it being believed that he had, owing to his ostracism by his fellownfficers, decided to bury his identity under some foreign flag.
