A ROBBER AT BAY
POLICEMAN KILLED. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. New York, March 5. A robber killed a policeman at Alexandria, —iana, when he was discovered holding up a jewellery store. The rohber fled, and barricaded himself in a vacant house. A posse surrounded the house, and a fight is imminent. An accomplice was arrested, and the mob endeavored to storm the gaol and lynch the prisoner, but was dispersed.
