DISTRICT NEWS.
TATARAIMAKA. 1 (From our Own Correspondent). The school children's' annual picnfc, which was held on Friday in Mr. Allardice's paddock, adjoining the schopl, was a great success. An excellent lunch was .spread out in the schoolroom, and was much appreciated by the large crowd: that had assembled during the early part of the day. The afternoon was- spent in' racing and in playing games. Tea was served at 4 o'clock, when Mr Gyde (chairman) distributed the children's prizes. A dance was held in the evening, and was also a decided success. Mr. Adlam, of Oakura, supplied the music. Great praise is due to the ladies, who did all in their power to further the success 6f the day's outing.
