'».■ SOUTH ISLAND MEETING. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Tuesday. The final of the South Island Rifle Association Championship was fired this afternoon, the last stage being ten shots at 900 yards. The following were the leading prize-winners : Sergt.-Major Evans 40, aggregate 257; Rifleman Henry 48, aggregate 250; Rifleman Rennie 44, 255; Captain King 47, 252; Lieut. Charlton 40, 251. The Taranaki Rifles will fire a handicap match for trophies to-morrow and on Saturday, ranges 200, 500 and 000 yards. The following are the handicaps: Lieuts. Willis and Marett, Sergt. Davies, and Privates Arnold and Blanckett, scr, Corpl. Reid, 1 point; Sergts. Crutch and Southam, 2 points; Private Okey and Captain Fletcher, 3 points; Private Prestney, 4 points; Lance-Corpl. Richards and Private Pepperill, 5 points; Privates Leighton and Rowlands, 0 points; Private Leary, 7 points; rest ot company, 10 points.
