The final of the South Island Rifle Association Championship was fired this afternoon, the last stage being ten shots at 900 yards. The following were the leading prize-winners : Sergt.-Major Evans 40, aggregate 257; Rifleman Henry 48, aggregate 250; Rifleman Rennie 44, 255; Captain King 47, 252; Lieut. Charlton 40, 251. The Taranaki Rifles will fire a handicap match for trophies to-morrow and on Saturday, ranges 200, 500 and 000 yards. The following are the handicaps: Lieuts. Willis and Marett, Sergt. Davies, and Privates Arnold and Blanckett, scr, Corpl. Reid, 1 point; Sergts. Crutch and Southam, 2 points; Private Okey and Captain Fletcher, 3 points; Private Prestney, 4 points; Lance-Corpl. Richards and Private Pepperill, 5 points; Privates Leighton and Rowlands, 0 points; Private Leary, 7 points; rest ot company, 10 points.
