At the execution at Insterberg of a servant girl named Mikowart, the headsman was dressed in a frock coat, silk hat, and white gloves. When he removed the black cloth covering the axe three assistants seized Mikowert and endeavored to place her head on the block, but she struggled until her clothes were torn and she was utterly exhausted.
