THE TREATY RATIFIED. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Received 26, 5.5 p.m. New York, February 25. The Japauese treaty has been ratified. The Pacific Coast Senators withdrew their active opposition, following upon Mr. Taft's assurance that no danger need be apprehended regarding Oriental immigration: Japan has pledged her honor to prevent an influx of undesirable coolies, and also to enforce a rigid scrutiny of all passports. Californian political parties announce their satisfaction at the ratification of the Japanese treaty.
