EAST COAST RAILWAY
A LEAGUE FORMED. By Telegraph.—Press association. Masterton, Last Night. At a meeting held here to-night preliminary steps were taken in the direction of forming the East Coast Railway League, to urge upon Parliament the necessity of pushing forward the railway between Gisborne and Napier, and Hawke's Bay and Masterton, together with the deviation of the Rnnutaka railway, with a view to opening up country at present undeveloped, ana of securing the transport of forces for defence purposes.
