WEST COAST CHAMPIONSHIPS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Hawera, Last Night. The West Coast swimming championships commenced at Hawera this afternoon, and were continued to-night. The 100 yards breast stroke championship was won by A. Squire (Hawera), C. E. Jago (Wanganui) second, in lmin 2!) l-iwec. G. Foden (Hawera) annexed the 440 yards championship, R. Hardy (Wanganui) being second. Time, Oini'ii 32 l-ssec.
CHILDREN'S SPORTS. Tn response to the Mayor's invitation, then; was a large attendance at the municipal haths on Tuesday afternoon, when a number of races for'the children was held. The following are the results:— (iirls (111 and under) Sybil Jackson 1, Marjory Mouat 2. Seven entries. (iirls. (11 and under)—Myra Johnson 1, "Ivy llawke 2. Eight entries. At the close of the sports the prizes were distributed by his Worship, cheers being given for Mr. Tisch, the judges, and Mr. Morris (caretaker).
