ARRIVED. Lyttelton, Wednesday—Arrived, at noon, ship Dartford, from Newcastle. Wellington, Wednesday.—Arrived, at 1.23 p.m., Ulimaroa, from Sydney. THE RARAWA. The Rarawa's cargo from Onehunga yesterday morning amounted to 05 ions, including. 9 tons of cement, 7 tons of flour, 10 tons of sugar, and 200 cases of fruit. THE COAL BOATS. The Alexander, which arrived from Westport on Tuesday night, yesterday discharged IS3 tons of coal. She sailed for Westport after discharging. The Kini arrived yesterday morning with 158 tons of North Brunner coal for iWard and Son. After discharging she sailed for Wellington.
THE ROSAMOND. The Rosamond is due from Wellington, Picton and Nelson this morning. After discharging her cargo she sails for Onehunga, M. Ma-laquin,. a French, resident of Christchurch, who had a long talk with the commander <f the French warship Kersaint as to the possibility of the vessel making regular calls at Lyttelton for supplies, states that the commander, after learning of the facilities afforded at the port for docking and repairing purposes, was so much impressed with the information that he wrote to the •Frertch naval authorities recommending that Lyttelton should be the port for refitting and> provisioning instead of Sydney. The equable climate of Canterbury entered into the decision, as the Kersaint's men found the. Sydney climale trying, as they are ijsed to a less enervating one.
