A POISONER SUICIDES
AT THE MOMENT OF ARREST. By Cable—Press Association —Copyright. London, February 20. Hutchison, who was charged with having poisoned his father and a guest by means of poisoned coffee, was traced to Guernsey, and committed suicide by taking poison the moment he was arrested. Hutchison was suspected of the poisoning at Dalkeith because a bottle of Arsenic was missing from his employer's shop. He carried the coffee from the kitchen to the guests in the dining-room. He was understood to be suffering from some form of dementia, and was apparently jealous of the attention of deceased's guests to a woman. He spent several dayg in Jersey under the name of Harrison, and was growing a beard. He stayed indoors, and stated that he helonged to Ilford. A police sergeant, who was pursuing Hutchison, found him upstairs in a boarding-house in Guernsey, and Hutchison at once drew a phial containing prussic acid from his pocket, and swallowed the contents. The sergeant seized the phial, but death was almost immediate.
