THE BOARD APPOINTED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. AVellington, Last Night. Matters in connection with the Patea waterside workers' trouble were advanced a stage further to-day, when the board of arbitrators was filially settled. Mr. J. AV. Poynton, Secretary to Ihe Treasury, with the consent of the Prime Minister, agreed to act as umpire. Mr. T. McLaren, M.P., will represent the federation in place of Mr. J. Jackson, the president, who had to leave for Greymouth to-night, and Mr. W. Pryor will sit as deleg.it' for the shipowners. It may be necessary for the board to visit Patea and take evidence there.
