FLOODS IN SCOTLAND
PITS AND HOMES FLOODED. By Cable—Press Association —Copyright. London, February 19. There haye been serious floods in Glasgow, owing to persistent rains. The river Clyde overflowed, causing the tramway service to be suspended, and trains are running with difficulty. Football matches had to be postponed. Three rivers in the Irvine district, Ayrshire, overflowed, flooding pits and houses. A great many sheep have been drowned, and large tracts of country are under water.
