BUSH FIRES
ANXIETY IN AUCKLAND DISTRICT. By Telegraph.—Press association. Auckland, Last Night. Further advices from the country districts show that considerable damage has been done by bush fires. A settler from Pomcrangi, near Te Kuiti, states that all the district is black. Five hundred acres of grass were burned, and one hundred sheep lost. The outbreaks have in most cases subsided somewhat, but there is still danger if wind rises. The shortage of feed and water in many parts is causing anxiety.
