THE FEDERAL REFERENDA
MINISTERIAL OPINIONS. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Sydney, February 17. Mr. Holman has abandoned his intention of conducting an active campaign against the referenda. He states that his personal attitude and opinion remain unchanged, but he withdraws in deference to the wish of the Government. Mr. McGowen, in defining his attitude towards the referenda, said that he, his colleagues, and a number of members of the State Labor Party intended to continue the campaign for the reconsideration of the whole Federal position. This would be best effected by the election of a fresh convention, on tlje basis of adult franchise, at which the whole State and Federal functions could be discussed in the light of ten years' experience.
