NATIONALISATION SCHEME
L\ T THE INTERESTS OF PUBLIC HEALTH. By Associalion—Copyright. Received 10, 9.50 p.m. Sydney, February 16. A Labor Conference deputation requested Mr. MacDonnell, Minister of Agriculture in New South Wales, to nationalise health administration. Special stress was laid on the nationalisation of hospitals, the registration of persons practising the curative art, regulation of medical fees, care of maternity cases, protection of child life. The deputation asked for the creation of a special department of State. ■ Mr. MacDonnell expressed his sympathy with the deputation, and promised Cabinet consideration. He said that personally he favored the nationalisation of hospitals at the earliest opportunity.
