There have been three cases of lysol poisoning in Auckland within the last week.. According to an Auckland medical man the person who takes lysol as a means of suicide is beyond all shadow of doubt ignorant of its effects. Lysol is a comparatively new prepartion in the market, and until recently was never known to be used as a means of taking life. It is a creolin derivative, arid is I numbered amongst the corosive poisons. I A large quantity mast be taken to produce fatal results. About a fortnight ago a woman accidentally swallowed a teaspoonful in mistake for a medicine. She was terribly burned and has since been in the Auckland Hospital, but as the result of receiving immediate attention her life has been saved. "Lysol is a valuable disinfectant," added the medical man, "and as it can be bought at less than sixpence per bottle it i 3 found in nearly every household, but those unfortunates who legard it as an agency for taking life would surely hesitate if they knew of the torture which must follow." NO DOUBT ABOUT IT. There is no doubt about the curative properties of Chamberlain's Cough Remedy, which is the best, safest, and most reliable cough medicine you can take. For harsh, hard, chronic coughs it is a splendid cure. Easily taken, and it quickly relieves and cures the most ob stinate cases.
