ANCIENT ORDER OF FORESTERS
ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Taraiiaki District Ancient Order of Foresters was held at Eltham on Tuesday last. The following district officers were present:—District Sub-Chief Ranger Bro. C. IT. Weston (in the chair); District Beadle, Bro. R. Fawcctt; District Secretary, Bro. C. Tunbridge; and District Treasurer, Bro. 11. R. Cattley. The .following delegates represented the undermentioned Courts:—Taraiiaki: P.C.R. liro. A. J. Way; Waireka, P.D.C.R. Bro. 11. N. Goldwater, and Bro. A Tunbridge; Patea, Bro. 11. Carey; Raleigh, P.C.R. Bro. A. Klenner; Egmont, Bro. W. G. Bishop; Stnftford, P.D.C.R. Bro. G. Burgess; Pride of Eltham, 15ro. J. Andrews; Pride of New Plymouth, Sis. L. Tunbridge, There were also present: Bros. J. D. Murray and G. Pollard, Bros. C. F. Footc, A. 11. Arnold, and C. T. Mills were re-elected auditors for the coming year. It was decided to hold the next delegates' meeting at Waitara. A letter was read from Bro. B. V. Kivell resigning the office of secretary to Court Stratford. Election of officers:—District Chief Ranger, Bro. C. IT. Weston; District Sub-Chief Ranger, Bro. R. Fawcctt; and District Beadle, Bro. B. V. Kivell.
It was decided to place Bro. J. R. Russell's name on the Merit Board ana that he be presented with the P.D.C.R. Jewel. The district officers were' then installed into their respective places by P.D.C.R. Bro. 11. N. Goldwater, assisted by D.T. Bro. 11. R. Cattley. The district officers' report was as follows: Number of members in the district in 1909 was 1243; admitted during the year, 141; left by arrears, (II; clearance, 2, death, 1; total left, 04. Number 01 juvenile members, 30; honorary members, 13; total number of members at the eiftl of the year was 1309, being an increase of members for the year of 77. Receipts and expenditure of the Sick and Funeral funds of the whole of the Courts in the district:—Amounts received, £3028 2s 3Vid; expenditure, £1915 lis 9d; being an increase for the year of £lll2 10s f>'/.,d. The total worth of the funds of the district is as follows:—Courts' Sick and Funeral fund, £23,01;> 14s B%d; Courts Management funds. £17(1 14s l%il; district funds, £727 14s lOd; surplus fund. Court Taraiiaki, £o00; hall fund. Court Waireka, £.")97 7s 7d: ball fund, Court Patea, £lO lfis 3d: hall fund, Court In'glewood Forest, £ISI 10s 7d; juvenile funds, £434 lfls; value of goods in stock, £42 2s 7d; total funds of the district. £20,100 lis Slid, being an increase of £1747 lis lOd.
During the year one member died and three members' wives. Sickness for the year was 143!) weeks 4 ilavs, and the amount paid was £llsO (Is Gd, being an increase of £175 Jus for the year. The amount of funeral money was £75. The district officers reported that Court Inglewood Forest had secured the most members for the past year.
