TARANAKI JOCKEY CLUB. SECOND- DAY ACCEPTANCES. The Taranaki Jockey Club's autumn meeting will be concluded to-day, the principal erents being the Paul Memorial Handicap, of 200 sovs, vim over one mile and a distance; tlic Grandstand Handicap, of 150 sovs, five furlongs; and the Farewell Handicap, 01 100 sovs, six furlongs. The eight races have tilled fairly well, and there is ample "talent" engaged to HSBurc a good day's .sport. First day's running should help speculators to pick" the winners, and there promise to go out some firm favorites this afternoon. The .sporting public are reminded of the sale of racehorses which Mr. Newton King is holding at the Haymarkct yards this morning. The animals for sale comprise some of the best known horses in Taranaki, such as Miss Advance, Courieve, Cloudy Morn, Grey Dawn, etc., and should meet with ready competition. Nearly nil the horses have good performances to their credit, and most of them are in (raining, and are being offered with engagements. Anyone wanting choice blood stock will find this an opportunity selubni to be met with in Taranaki.
