THE CASHEL STREET TRAGEDY. TWO MEX ARRESTED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Ciiristcliureh, Last Night, At half-past eleven o'clock this morning Harry Alexander Jack and Vv alter Richard Sadler were arrested at the latter's shop in Cashel street, and charged with the murder of Ethel' May Bradley on or about February 7, at Ciiristcliureh. 'J'he arrest was made by Chief Detective Bishop, and Detectives Fade, Miller, and Gibson.

i The two submitted quietly. Both i were given the usual caution made at arrests, and accordingly made no statements. A special sitting of the Police Court ■ was held at 12.20 by Mr. IT. W. Bishop. ■ S.M., when the two men were formally 1 charged with the crime. Mr. Russell ; appeared for Sadler. On the application of Chief Detective ; Bishop, who appeared for the prosecution, a formal remand was granted till i to-morrow week, the accused not objecting. His Worship remarked that lie ( supposed another remand would be asked | for then. Bail was not asked for. I j JA I" XT IX ESS EVAPORATES. I Both men steppea into the dock con- ' lidently enough, Sadler with a smile uponi his face. When he heard the word "mui_dcr," however, it seemed to shake his self-possession, his eyes blinked, and he' bit his lip; and at the finish he was) trembling all over. I Jack looked more serious in the dock I than Sadler, but retained his self-pos-l session, a -orced smile occasionally! wreathing his face. Both men were deathly pale. | Bradley's body was found in a right-of-way in circumstances suggesting it had been placed there after death. °Evi- , dcncc at the inquest on Friday indicated' I that Jack had been keeping company I with the girl, and she was last seen going into Sadler's shop, where Jack was employed, hi the absence of direct cvi-j I deuce concerning the movements of the | girl after 8 p.m. on Friday, and in face! of Jacks sworn statement that he had' not seen the girl .since the previous Fri-I day, the police were unable to take fur-' ther action, and the inquest was ad-' journed till next Friday to allow the! police to gather further evidence. The' theory commonly accepted was that Bradley committed suicide, and the body was placed in the right-of-way after death. It: is understood'that the arrest' was due (o evidence gathered by the! police bearing on tnc movements of tllel men.

Sadler is a man of about 35 years of aire, a barber by trade. .Jack, his assistant, U "2:1 years of aoe.
