THE TARANAKI JOCKEY CLUB MEETING.

"Correct cards" for the Taranaki Jockey Club's meeting will be on sale at Messrs. Cook and Lister's this afternoon.

The Taranaki Jockey Club is arranging to have the course proper thoroughly watered each night until after the meeting. Arrangements have also been made with the borough council to water Gover street and approaches to the course on both race days. A change and £5 window have been added to the local totalisator house, in addition to other improvements to facilitate the handling of investments at the forthcoming meeting.

SALE OF RACEHORSES. The sporting public are reminded ot the gale of racehorses which Mr. Newton King is holding at the Haymarket yards oil Thursday morning next, the second day of the'Taranaki races. The animals for sale comprise some of the best known horses in Taranaki, such as Miss Advance, Couriere, Cloudy Morn. Grey Dawn, etc., and should meet with ready competition. Nearly all the horses have good performances to their credit, and most of them are in training and are being offered with engagements. Anyone wanting choice blood stock will find this an opportunity seldom to be met with in Taranaki.
