THE FIRST SHOT FIRED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wanganni, Last Night. The Xew Zealand Alliance opened a local campaign this afternoon, when Messrs. T. E. Taylor and C. 11. Poolo. M.'s P., delivered addresses to a large audience of men at the Opera House. The chairman, in his opening remarks, said that Wanganui had been chosen as the scene of the first shot in what would be the most momentous campaign in the history of Xew Zealand. A large meeting was held in the evening.
