•At the annual meeting of the Geelong Chamber of Commerce recently, Mr. Holroan, M.L.A., chairman of the Geelong Harbor Trust said that the Maritime Insurance Company had abandoned its appeal against the decision of the Supreme Court in the action taken by the Geelong Harbor Trust to recover the amount of the insurance in respect to the loss of the dredge Walrus. The company had agreed to pay the amount of the claim and, interest as fixed by the Court, and to pay also the amount of the insurance 0(1 the dredge Octopus, which was lost after leaving Durban for Geelong. In all, the Trust would receive £29,885. ,£e explained that the value of the 'dredges was £24,500, and that they were ihsured for. £22,000. He estimated that the Trust would have to pay about £B3OO in costs, and that the Maritime Insurance Company would have to find about £40,000, but several other companies would share in that expenditure.
