THE TERRITORIALS
TARAXAKI RIFLES IN CAMP. The Taranaki Rifles' camp at the Waiwakaiho was thrown open for public inspection on Thursday, when a large number of visitors availed themselves or the invitation. Afternoon tea was served in a large marquee, and all had an enjoyable and interesting time. The attendance at the camp has been excellent, and the behaviour of the men a credit to their officers and themselves. Gooa work of a practical nature is being indulged in, and the men take a hearty in, terest in their drill, which shows improvement. Camp wjll be struck on Sunday afternoon. Corporal Crutch has been promoted to Actin'g-Sergeant, and as he holds the qualifying certificate, this appointment will doubtless be confirmed at the end of the present month.
