NEW PLYMOUTH v. WAITARA. Teams from jthe New Plymouth and Waitara Clubs will engage in a match this afternoon on the town courts, when the home team will be represented by Misses Fitzherbert, Webster, Kirkby, and Crawford, with Miss E. Rundle as emergency, and Messrs. Howden, Ryder, C. H. Weston, Matthews, A. and I. Grant. AUCKLAND v. TARANAKI. Information lias been received from the Auckland Tennis Association thai owing to the men not being able to obtain the necessary leave, it will not be possible to send a team to play Taranaki on the 17th inst. INGLEWOOD v. STRATFORD. The Inglewood and Stratford Clubs met at Inglewood on Thursday, the match resulting in a win by three points for the local team, the Inglewood ladies saving the situation. The following are the scores (Inglewood players being mentioned first in each instance): Ladies.—Mrs. Thomson 0, v. Mrs. Robinson 1; Mrs. Matthews 0, v. Miss Black 1; Miss Hamerton 6, v. Mrs. Budge, 4; Miss Hosking G, v. Miss D. Mackay 0. Men.—Taylor 0, v. R. B. Anderson 0; Sutherland 7, v. Cameron 9; Biernacki 0, v. Young 9; Thomson 8, v. Crawsliaw 9; Paterson 0, v. W. D. Anderson 0; Buckley 7, v. Vaughan 9. Men's Doubles.—Taylor and Sutherland 8, v. Young and Cameron 9; Biernacki and Thomson 7, v. Vaughan and Crawsliaw 9. Totals: Inglewood 70, Stratford 72.
