COOKING DEMONSTRATION.

WITH "PERFECTION"" STOVES. At Messrs. Okey, Son and Arnold's warehouse, Devon street, yesterday afternoon, there was an interested gathering of people, who attended to witness the cooking demonstration with " Perfection" Oil Cookers. Two specially engaged experts were in attendance, and the practical and economical advantages of these stoves were thoroughly explained. It is claimed for the "Perfection" Cookers that there is no waste— < a quick, uniform heat just where wanted, with the result'that the housewife has a hot oven in two minutes; there is absolutely no smoke and no smell—because perfect combustion takes place instantly; and there is no soot and no dirt—as was.proveu by the bright shiny bottom of the copper kettle in use. The oven is a portable arrangement, ana, being collapsible, can be cleaned and put away out of the road. The heating arrangements are simple, the burner being on the Bunson principle, consuming oil at the rate of y a d per hour per burner. The stoves were shown in three sizes, with one burner, two burners (suitable for cooking for six persons), and three burners (for twelve persons), while, besides, there was a handy ''afternoon tea" or "holiday" stovei which answers all the purposes of an ordinary gas ring. Afternoon tea was served to all and sundry, with scones and cakes cooked to a turn in the stoves "While you wait." The stoves have been on the market for only about two years, and the demand for them has been extraordinary, the claim of the manufacturers being that their stove is the cheapest, quickest, and cleanest of all, whether with wood, coal or gas fuel. A visit to. Messrs. Okey, Son, and Arnold's at any time to-day between two o'clock and nine is bound to prove interesting and instructive, while it may be remunerative. At any rate it is well worth the time.
