BOY LIFE IN THE CITY
INVESTIGATION IN CHRISTCiIURCH. Christcluircli, February 7. The members of the Board of Management of the Boys' Gordon Hall are ui present engaged in a "general survey" of the boy life in Christcluircli and t)ie surrounding districts. The idea is to find out the environments of the lads and in what manner they spend their spare hours, the educational advantages .afforded them, to what extent they make use of the juvenile portion of the public library, whether they are frequent patrons of the different places of amusement, what special class of amusement they prefer, whether they take part in athletic sports; in fact, general accurate knowledge of the conditions in which they live. Each member of the board has taken one department dealing with boy life, and when the various reports are ready the whole matter will be considered and the board will be in a position to know in what directions it is most desirable to expend its energies for the purpose of providing the fails with suitable educational and recreation facilities.
