DANGEROUS CROSSINGS
REPRESENTATIONS TO MR. ROXAVXE. liy Telegraph.--Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. Replying to the representations of the Canterbury Automobile Association re garding the necessity for electric signals at level railway crossings, and the cutting of trees obstructing the view of crossings, Air. '!'. Ronayne, general manager of railways, stated that to establish electric signals at the large number of level crossings in the Dominion would involve very considerable expenditure, which could not be undertaken. The Department had already gone to much expense in getting trees cut down, but in some cases difficulty was experienced owing to the exorbitant demands of adjoining landowners.
