LAND SETTLEMENT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Timaru, Monday. In reference to protests against the Land Board requiring applicants for pastoral runs to be possessed of about seven times the annual rental of the run applied for, it is explained that this is necessary to ensure that lessees have capital to buy stock and carry on.
