Professor David, of Sydney, lectured at Oxford University on the Antarctic, He dwelt on Sir Ernest Shackleton's heroism in sledging 09 miles in three days, and the rescuing of Marshall. Oxford confers the Doctorship of Science on Prefessor David on Tuesday.
