SOME QUEENSLAND EXPERIENCES. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Brisbane, February 0. Eight inehes of rain fell at Rockhampton, and nine inches at Gladstone on Friday. At Rockharnpton all the wharves and portions of the town arc inundated. Some of the streets are feet deep. At Gladstone the town reservoir burst, and railway traffic beyond the flooded areas was suspended. The latest reports are that the rain is clearing, and the floods are commencing to recede. A STORM IN VICTORIA. FOAMING TORRENTS IN THE STREETS. Melbourne, February 6. A severe storm in the city was experienced yesterday evening. An inch and a half of rain fell in an hour. The streets became foaming torrents, and caused much damage by flooding houses and war»houses in the city. Round Collingwood, Malvern, Armadale, and Toorak, the water is feet deep in many bouses. There were some exciting rescues.
