Seven miners at Westphalia, sentenced in 1895 to terms of imprisonment ranging from six months to three years on charges of perjury, on the testimony of a gendarme, served their time. Two are dead. The remainder have just secured a re-trial, and established their innonce. Their sentences have been quashed. TURKEY AND BULGARIA. Received 5, 5. p.m. Sofia, February 4. Turkey and Bulgaria have agreed to a provisional tariff for a period of a year, and they will negotiate a commercial treaty. STORM IN THE MEDITERRANEAN. Received 5, 6 p.m. Madrid, February 4. A storm occurred in the Mediterranean, and fifteen vessels, with 43 men, and also a number of fishing boats, are missing from Catalonia. EMIGATION "FAIRIES." Received 5, 5 p.m. London, February 4. A mob of victimised persons looted an alleged emigration agency at Bristol, which had been supplying glowing prospects of emigration. THE CANADIAN NAVY. Received 5, 5 p.m. Vancouver, February 4. Work is to be begun immediately on the Esquimalt dry dock, which is to be used by the warships of Canada's Pacific fleet. )
