AUSTRALIAN POSTAL SERVICE
THE GRIEVANCES EXAGGERATED. By Cable —Press Association—Copyright. Received 5, 12.45 a.m. Sydney, February 5. A rfiass meeting of postal employees, convened by the Council of the Federal Public Association, discussed their grievances. In the course of speeches it was asserted that the recent statements about a grave crisis being about to occur were exaggerated. The Postal Department was not endeavoring to foment a strike, but the object of the meeting was to link up the associations of the various States, with a view of obtaining a governing body which would speak for the public service as a whole, so that the Postmaster-General should not be permitted to put them off with mere promises in the future. Resolutions were carried, approving of the adoption of the Royal Commission's report by the Federal Government as a basis of reorganisation of the Postal and Telegraph Department, and a deputation was appointed to interview the Postmaster-General.
