To-day she will take on bofcrd 13,000 boxes of butter, sailing afterwards for Wellington, where her cargo will be transhipped to the Turakina. THE FASTEST CRUISER AFLOAT. The new Dreadnought cruiser Indefatigable, which is said to be the ugliest ship in the British Navy, promises to be the most powerful and fastest cruiser afloat. At her preliminary trials between the Scillies and Bcacliy Head, though there was clioppy sea and the wind occasionally reached the force of a gale, she made six runs, three in each direction, on the measured mile. Her average speed was 24 knots, but when doing her best at three-quarter power, while running up the Channel, she reached 27 knots. This -wan regarded as so satisfactory that her builders (J. Brown and Co., of Clydebank) hope that she will exceed 30 knots in her full power trials. She is expected to be ready for the pennant this month, two years after her keel was laid down. The Star of India, which arrived in Wellington last week from London, via Australia, brought a cargo of 13,000 tons for Australasian ports.
