FLOODS IN QUEENSLAND
RIVERS RISING RAPIDLY. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Brisbane, February 4. Reports from the flooded districts state that heavy rain continues, and that the rivers are rising rapidly. Large areas of low-lying country arc inundated, railway communication is badly interrupted, and big floods are anticipated. All the lower-lying parts of Rockhampton are covered with water. The Warreog river at Charlesville is over the bridges, and the country round is inundated. At Augaithella the water is kneedeep in the main street. There is rough weather on the coast, and shipping is sheltering.
