MR. MASSEY AND THE "TIMES." By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, February 3. I A preliminary phase of the case, Mr. W. F. Massey v. New Zealand Times, an action for £2OOO damages for alleged libel, was before the Chief Justice today, when plaintiff's solicitor a.sked to have the case tried by a special jury, on the grounu that expert evidence was required to be called. The application was refused. A SCOW ASHORE. Westport, Yesterday, The tug Mana is at Karamea to-day assisting in towing off the stranded scow Zingara.
