SUPREME COURT.
DUNEDIN SESSIONS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Dunedin, Friday. Charles Kennedy, who during a drunken bout broke into Wright and Stephenson's store, was ordered to be detained for reformatory purposes for a period of ten years. This is the first application of section 3 of the amended Crimes Act. The judge said that the new Prisons Board could release the prisoner at any time on being satisfied of the genuineness of his reform. William Norman was fined £25 for betting with a minor at the Balclutha hack meeting. GUILTY OF ASSAULT. Wellington, Last Night. Geo. Williams was found guilty of having on December 7th (1) asasulted Bartholomew Mahoney with intent to rob him; (2) assaulted Mahoney so as to cause him actual bodily harm; and (3) assaulted Mahoney with intent to commit a crime. The prisoner was remanded for sentence till Monday.
