At the trial of Dr. Patchenko, Petropavlovsky, a lodger in Madame Mouravieff's house, stated that he overheard, through the thin walls, Dr. Patchenko and his mistress, Madame Mouravieff, discussing the injection of germs. He notified the police. Dr. Patchenko confessed for the purpose of shielding Madame Mouravieff.
