FURTHER ACTIVITIES. A special general meeting of the New Plymouth Liederkranz and the New Plymouth Liedertafel was held in St. An-, drew's Hall on Wednesday evening;,, Mr. Tom Woodard presided. ]

The statement of accounts showed the I profit from the recent combined concert ; given on the occasion of the visit of | His Excellency the Governor to lie sufficient to meet the loss sustained over the "Elijah" concert, and for a small balance to be divided between the societies. Special votes of thanks were accorded to Messrs. G. H. White and W. G. Reid (conductors), Miss Douglas (accompanist), and to Mr. Hoffmann, of the British and Continental Piano Co.

Considerable discussion took place as to the future activities of the societies. On Mr. Rudd's motion it was decided to give another combined concert after Easter, and a sub-committee was sei up to obtain suggestions as to a suitable work of the nathrt! of a short oratorio or operetta to 1 be "given by the combined societies, together witii selected part songs, etc,, by the two societies. It was. decided to a social evening on Thursday, March 2, under the auspices of the societies, when the Selection Committee's recommendations will be considered.
