AUSTRALIAN LABOR CONGRESS
LAND NATIONALISATION UNDEFINED. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright Sydney, January 31. The Labor Conference, after a lengthy discussion, negatived the proposal to strike the land nationalisation plank from the platform. The mover's contention was that the land was practically already nationalised, as there was no limit to the taxation that could be placed on it. Mr. Watson strongly favored the retention of the plank. Mr. Nelson, Minister of Lands for Now South Wales, considered it should have a definition affixed to show what the party really meant by nationalisation.
