PETROLEUM NEWS.
TARANAKI COMPANY. The manager of the Taranaki Petroleum Company (Mr. Keith) reports that good progress has been made with the drilling at No. ■> bore, and that the gas which is being conveyed from No. 2 for fuel purposes is working splendidly.
The increase in the flow of oil from No. 2 bore has been maintained during the week.
No. 3* is down to 3380 ft., with very good indications of oil.
The souvenir photograph to be presented by the directors to His Excellency the Governor has been framed and will be forwarded to Auckland! where it will be formally handed to Lord Islington by Mr. J. D."Henry on behalf of the directors.
Tt is reported from (ireymouth that machinery for drilling anil a stall' of experts-have left London for New Zealand to commence operations on the Kotuku field for a London syndicate.
