GENERAL TELEGRAMS

LIQUOR IN THE KING COUNTRY-. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Te Kuiti, Friday. At the Magistrate's Court L. D. Nathan and Co., Auckland, were charged on three charges with having sent liquor into the King Country without furnishing the quantity to the Clerk of the Court. Defendants said they adopted the same practice with Ohinemuri, and had the police asked for specific quantities to be stated the firm would have complied. The firm made a case of eight dozen pints and other firms seven dozen. The magistrate said the statements furnished were misleading to the police. The Act not having been complied with, the firm was technically guilty, but he would not record a conviction.
