The single sculls at the anniversary regatta were won by T. Kemp from scratch, with S. Penrce (35 seconds behind) second, and Fogwell (-10 seconds behind) third. The Naval Brigade crows annexed the service whalers' races. All other sports, including the Randwick races, and inter-State cricket, were postponed.

FEDERAL NOTE ISSUE. Received 27, 12.55 a.m. Melbourne, January 20. The number of Federal notes issued to date is 1,550,370, of a value of £3,750,091.

A BAND CONTEST. Received 27, 12%20 a.m. . Sydney, January 20.

In the inter-State band contest, the B grade competitions (own choice selection) resulted: Broken Hill Band, 07 points, 1; St. George's City Band, 00 points, 2; Corrimal Band. 88 points, 3. There were, six competitors.
