' SECOND DAY. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The second day of the Wellington Racing Club's summer meeting opened in glorious weather. The attendance was large, and some excellent racing was witnessed. Twenty-live bookmakers were licensed. Jlesults:— Mungaroa Handicap, seven furlongs.— Kilosteri 1, Bracken 2, Laius 3. Wellington Stakes, six furlongs.—Culprit (W. Price) 1, Orton 2, Sunburnt 3. Also started: Tenterhook, Bootle. Won by two and a half lengths. Time, lmin 2 l-3sec.

Wellington Club Handicap, one and a quarter miles.—Lady Medallist (C. Jenkins) 1, Birkdale 2, Maori King 3. Also started: Los Angelos, Merrivonia, Goldflndcr, Mendip, Outlander, Vi. From a fair start, Yi shot to the front, and led to the six furlong post, where Maori King and Los Angelos drew level, Lady Medallist and Birkdale being close up. With three furlongs to go, Maori King and Los Angelos led, and at the distance this order was maintained, with Birkdale creeping up and Lady Medallist running well on the inside, the lattei winning a good race by a length, Maori King a length and a half away third.
