In connection with the army contracts scandals a famous ballerina is suspected of receiving bribes from agents of foreign ordnance firms on account of her influence with the Grand Dukes. The police ransacked her house, despite the Grand Dukes' protests, and seized many jewel-cases in order to trace the purchasers.
